Upload and securely store as many photos as you wish. There is no fee to upload or store photos, maintain an account, or share photos online with others. Pay only for Prints or Products you order.
No maximum file size limit we do encourage you to keep photo file sizes under 10 megapixels, there is no added benefit to printing with larger. Please use as little compression as possible for best results. Most photo editing programs have a "Save As" command, which allows you to save a copy and convert a file into a different format. We do not offer a service to convert files into other formats. For videos: we accept the following file formats: flv, m4v, mp4, mp2, mpeg, mpg, mov, qt, dv, asf, avi, movie, mts, m2ts, 3gpp, 3gp, and wmv.
Back to top Understanding Resolution Resolution refers to the number of pixels in an image. Some additional quick tips: Upload first, then crop! If you want to crop your photo, we recommend doing so after uploading the original to Shutterfly. It's easy, and the benefit is that you can adjust and change it as needed.
We warn you about low-resolution photos. If your photo doesn't meet our recommended resolutions, the photo will display on our site with a warning. This is to help prevent dissatisfaction due to ordering something that may not print well.
It may look okay online, but may not print well. Your best bet is to use a different photo. Don't forget to check for overall photo quality. Download from: My Photos Shutterfly Mobile App Shutterfly Share Sites We securely store your photos at full, original resolution and offer several convenient methods of downloading from our website, mobile app, and Share Sites. All downloads are in JPG format and are either full resolution or high resolution as specified below. Note: Downloaded photos do not include any edits made using our online tools, such as cropping, color effects, or red eye removal.
Download from My Photos You can download photos one at a time or in batches. Click the link, and save the file to your computer. Open the file with WinZip or other compatible program to extract the high resolution files and save them to your computer. Images will be supplied in original resolution whenever possible, and when high resolution images are substituted, original resolution downloads are always available through the multi-download email path.
If you wish to receive your original resolution photos, please follow the instructions sent to you in the email received with your multi file download.
Download from Shutterfly Mobile App You can download photos from your account to your mobile device one at a time via the Shutterfly app. App downloads are a high resolution file x , suitable for viewing, sharing, or printing up to 8x Full resolution downloads can be obtained through the website.
Download from Shutterfly Share Sites Share Site photos can be downloaded one at a time from Share Sites you own or are a member of subject to permission levels and site settings.
